I would have to say that this is my most successful water marble to date!

Twisted
I lied. This isn't Finger Paints' Twisted. =) I layered Motely, Flecked and Flashy over black and it looks exactly like Twisted, which is the one I wanted the most, but my Sally's didn't have it! Considering I am not the biggest fan of flakies, these three will last me for eternity unless I franken with them, so I am completely okay with not owning Twisted and layering these three instead! =D The other one I passed on was Asylum just because I didn't really like it from the swatches I saw.

Flashy
I got 3 of the 5 new Special Effects from Finger Paints and this is 1 coat of Flashy over 1 coat of (I was feeling lazy and uncreative) Sally Hansen's Black Heart.

Smoothicles Cuticles
I found this stuff at a local Crackle Barrel. It was around $7 or $8.
I love moisturizers, especially cuticle moisturizers, so eh, why not, we'll give it a shot!

I Love Your Blog
So I recently discovered that I was a little behind on posts because the other day, I just found a few things that I never got around to posting and completely forgot about them; all from nearly a year ago! Haha! Oops!
Anyway. One was the I <3 your blog award. The only problem is that I don't have any rules that go with this, but I do have the questions:

Las estrellas y la luna; ellas me dicen dónde voy
Desperado was on t.v. a couple of weeks ago. Is it sad not that my first thought was "ooohhh I love that movie, I am going to watch it (twice in a row)!", but that my second thought was "O.O I wanna do Desperado nails!!"? =P

Rainbow Leopard
Happy Blogoversary! Although I didn't start to really focus on this blog for a few months after I started it, Nails Like Lace (with some name changes along the way) has been around for a whole year, today! Very exciting!! =D
Anyway...
I replaced the other day's tiger and leopard print fail with yet another fail today! =D

I like this one, but I don't. I wish I'd had a smaller paint brush to use (I would have just cut one down, but I use all of the ones I have the way they are), that'd I'd been more careful on base color application, and that I'd made it look more like leopard print than wonky polka dots. =P
Regardless, I used Sally Hansen Whirlwind White as the base, acrylic paints for the spots, and an unnamed L.A. Colors glitter from the High Impact Glitter collection on top.

Furry Friday - Squeakers
Tired of seeing dogs on Furry Friday? Good! Me too!
So today, this is my fat-fat, Squeakers.
Ms. Squeakers actually lived the first half of of her life as "Kitty Kitty" or "Baby" because we just never could find a name suitable for her. When she was a kitten, though, and even now, she squeaks instead of meowing. So she's Squeaks or Squeakers. After she had babies, I started calling her Momma, so that one is kind of the one that has just stuck. I think my mom and dad are the only two who actually call her by her name, anymore. =P
This is her "you stopped petting me, I am not amused" face. |

Have you ever seen a tangerine peacock?
The tangerine that I showed you yesterday needed a little extra to prolong it's existence.
I looked at my Sally Hansen greens, then back at my nails. Back at some teals and limes, back at my nails; and thought "peacock".
So I pulled out my Bundle Monster plates and got to work.
I used Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue to do the stamping, then dotted in the middles of the stamp with Thinking of Blue (dark blue), Fairy Teal (teal) and Grass Slipper (lime green). The pattern stamp is from plate BM 212 and the peacock is from plate BM 15.
I consider this one to be a fail because it turned out looking absolutely nothing like I had planned. I looked at my nails, imagined the stamp and other colors and it looked great. But it just didn't end up coordinating and looking how I imagined. I am thinking it's the orange background that I am having a problem with.

2012 Color Trends
Holly from Hooked contacted me about participating in a big presentation, if you will, of 2012 nail polish color trends!
Each color is going to be featured on different blogs today, and I will be showing you tangerine, a bright, bold, but not too Halloweeny, redish orange.

Retro Rainbow
I can't recall where I originally saw this design. I didn't save anything on it because it was simple enough to remember it. I do know it was on YouTube, though; but there are a lot of variations of this look all over the place!
Anyway. For this look, I used 5 of the mini L.A. Colors from one of the High Impact collections in which all polishes were nameless. The white and black is done in acrylic paint.
I wanted to try out some of my new polishes, but then I didn't want to leave them plain (go figure, I can't ever leave a plain polish alone), so I went white this super simple design (I rarely see a "retro" design that I like, but for some reason I really love this one!):

Quince de Creatividad - Necklaces
I always love the jewelry that Meredith makes at Polish and Charms, so I was inspired to try out some of my own. I found some pendants got some chain and cord. It wasn't very difficult and I am not sure if these were meant to be necklaces or not, but they are now! =D
Here is what I have come up with so far:

A Pretty Papaya Against the Winter Sky
I haven't done animal print nails in a long time. In fact, the last ones I did were my Tigre de Fuego nails back in July of 2011!
I was wanting something that would be simple and quick to do and I wanted to try out some of my newest untried polishes, so I decided on a leopard print using Finger Paints' Winter Sky (the teal) and Revlon's Pretty in Papaya. The black is acrylic paint.

8 Days of Smooth & Perfect Polish - Day 3 Linen

Shhh
I'm not sure if this is a secret or not, but I went to Sally's Beauty to check out the Finger Paints special effects polishes and they only had 3, so I asked one of the girls about the other 2, and she didn't know anything, so while she was getting the other girl to come out and tell me, I was talking to my aunt about magnetic nail polish and girl B interrupted with "we don't have any of it but we'll be getting some soon". Confused, I thought she was talking about the Finger Paints. But she said China Glaze is coming out with a magnetic nail polish line!! >.< I'm excited!!! =D
