Acid Wash/Grunge Nails

I have wanted to try out acid wash nails/the grunge technique for quite some time and finally got around to it... a month ago.

It took me six months to actually try the technique and another six months to get around to posting about it! =P

It's been so long I can't recall what polishes I used in this. I know Revlon Metallic was one. I believe both China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and Recycle, and some random black creme were used, too. I know Recycle is there, but I thought I'd put down CC, silver, black, then Recycle. But that bottom layer could be Recycle. I'm really not sure. Anyway...

I'd started out using a brush dipped in acetone but after five minutes per nail, wasn't impressed with the look. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to just grab a Q-tip and the acetone and go to town.

I like them much better after more removal, with more silver showing through!

I'll definitely have to figure out something better for me, because the brush took too long, and the Q-tip left fuzzies on my nails. I do want to try this again in other colors, though!

You should! It's so awesome! And there's really no way to mess it up too bad!
