So my pictures are crap. Sorry. They aren't completely in focus and the glare off my nails is all awkward. It's just a hot mess. But it was just a test mani, so it's alright.
They looked a lot better in my head when I imagined them! The image was too big and the "decals" too thick and uneven. I think part of the problem is that I was impatient in making these decals. I used Seche Vite because I didn't want to have to wait too long on them to dry. But Seche dries really hard and they weren't as pliable as I needed them to be due to that.
To make stamping decals, you stamp an image on your stamper, then color in the blank spots where your base color would show through. Cover it in topcoat, let it dry, then peel it off and place it on your nail.
For these, I used NYC Midtown Mimosa topped with Salon Perfect Jolt is the base, then I stamped with black, left that image on my stamper, filed in the spots in the image while it was on my stamper with paint, and topcoated.
The decals didn't want to stay stuck down to my nail though. They wanted to lift around the edges. It was just a mess. WAY too much work and time for such a simple mani in my opinion!
Now that I get the gist of it, I may try this again sometime with more patience, a different topcoat, and a smaller image, but I am not sure. I don't stamp very often, anyway, and when I do, I want it to be quick and easy, so we'll see.
