Born Pretty Store Review - 3D Full-Nail Applique

Today I have a pretty neat product from Born Pretty Store to show you! I'm not sure what exactly to call these, though. I'd say they fall somewhere in the "rhinestone" category maybe?

I know these are not for everyone. They are 3D and stick up off the nail quite a bit, but I love them! I love how they look a lot more than I thought I would!

My base for this mani is the same set of nail stickers from BPS that I posted yesterday.

Again, I'll go over what I think are the pros and cons of this product.

The pros: It is really unique, I have never seen anything like this before. I think they look really pretty, and them being so 3D does not bother me. I used a lot of topcoat around the edges of this piece so I had good wear time with it, and minimal snagging.

The cons: They are not curved very much so they're not shaped to fit a nail very well. I tried to bend them myself with pliers, and while it was possible, I kept either crushing the stones in them or breaking them in half. I was able to get one curved for the most part and it fit nicely, but the one on my thumb I left flat and it stuck up too much at the top and bottom unless I filled the huge gap between it and my nail with Seche Vite. Your nails do need to be a tad longer than mine to wear these, too, as you can see in the previous picture, they stick off my nail a little.

Overall, I like these. I think they are fun and look so awesome, regardless of their few downfalls!

These rhinstonesque decor items cost $2.84 on the BPS website. They list the dimensions as 9.9mm wide and 17mm long. You get five of them for that price.

I mentioned yesterday that you cannot use topcoat over the nail stickers, though. Here they are without topcoat to refresh your memory:

I was hoping a thick topcoat would help smooth out the bumps, but it actually made things worse:

That clear coating that is over the glitter in the decals shriveled up as soon as I added topcoat, so that's definitely a no-go! They are still pretty, though, if you don't mind a few folds in the decal when you wear them without tc.

LOL - the top coat surely didn't help on these - and wow, that is quite a piece of jewelry you have on your nails!
