Anonymous Lacquer - Like a Virgin Collection

I am excited to announce and introduce a brand new indie line today: Anonymous Lacquer! Anonymous Lacquer is always 3-free, and hand-mixed with raw ingredients.

The creator, Mill, sent me her first collection, called Like a Virgin, to swatch; plus an extra that she hasn't released yet.

For starters, the collection consists of five polishes named after songs from the 1980's: Torun to My Blue Crush, Ruby Baby We Miss You, Purple Rain-bows, Moon Walking, and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun on Moons & Stars.

((WARNING: This post will be very picture-heavy, with a few shots per polish, including macros.))

Twinsie Tuesday - Requested Mani

I posted on Instagram quite a while ago asking for requests and one in particular I got, I really liked. I was requested to do a Mother's Day mani.

Although it has already passed, I wanted to come up with something inspired by my mom for today's design.

How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?

A week or so ago, I did another nail collab with Amy and Mai on Instagram. This time, we did manis inspired by the classic Tootsie Roll Pop commercial in which Mr. Owl is asked how many licks it takes to get to the center of said lollipop.

If you're thinking I'm crazy and have no idea what I am talking about, see below:

Memory nice and refreshed? Good! On to the mani! :)

Twinsie Tuesday - Redo a Past TT Theme

For today's theme, I redid two in one. I redid the "copcat" theme and the "animal  print" theme.

On the copycat side, I loved this leopard print mani by Heather so much that I had to do it myself! Plus, well, animal print... obviously. :)

Born Pretty Store Review - Ultra Fine Loose Glitter

I have a second Born Pretty Store product review today. I got a 12 pack of glitters from them to try out.

I started with a cheap yellow polish just to have something to stick the glitters to; sprinkled the yellow glitter on top of that, then let it dry, applied a thin coat of clear polish and another sprinkling of glitter.

On top of the glitter, I used China Glaze Thistle do Nicely for some neon pink leopard spots.

Twinsie Tuesday - Bubbles

I started out with a neutral gradient for this mani: From cuticle to tip - Zoya Portia, Avery, and Flynn.

I then used the same bubble technique as for my jelly fish nails: Water down white acrylic paint, make blobs on the nail with it, and soak up the excess liquid with a cotton bud.

I tried for a wet bubble look this time, matting the background and dotting shiny topcoat over just my bubbles, but I think it looks a little odd. Otherwise, somewhat decent. :)

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 3/3: Colored Decals

My final post for this little series is again layering these sheer jelly polishes over something else.

Here are installments one and two if you missed them.

I was wearing a set of Sally Hansen nail strips for a couple of days. After staring at the black and white design, I started to wonder how they would look with the jellies on top of them. So began my experiment.

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 2/3: Watercolor

Yesterday I premiered a mini series in which I am showing different ways to use the Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies (or OPI Sheer Tints if you have those instead).

Today, I have a second look using them. This is probably the most popular way: a watercolor mani.

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 1/3: Colored Holos

When I first picked up the Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies, I took so long to actually use them, because I wanted to come up with some different things to do with them.

For starters, I'll go through the polishes. From left to right, they are:

Berry pink - Jell-ous?
Coral pink - Water Melon
Peach orange - Vitamin D-light
Green - Sea Through
Blue - Ice Tint
Purple - Grape Jelly

These are not typical jelly polishes. They are more like the Sheer Tints from OPI, which I don't have to compare, but from what I have heard they are thinner and easier to work with than the Sheer Tints, but have about the same opacity.

I was curious as to how these would look over a holo polish since they are so sheer. So that is what I did for my first mani showing how these polishes can be used.

Half Moon Saran Wrap Marble

I started working on a full Saran Wrap mani, but really liked how this looked alone! So before I added more colors to it (which I'll share tomorrow), I needed to wear this!

KKCenterHk Review - 3D M&Ms Candy Nail Decor

I recently received some ridiculously cute 3D nail art M&Ms in red, orange, and blue from KKCenterHk. I was really excited about them because they are so adorable!

I decided to try these out on a couple nails, and do an M&M inspired choppy rainbow gradient on the other two nails using:
Zoya Carmen (red),
Barielle Fire Me Up (orange),
Zoya Pippa (yellow),
Zoya Josie (green),
Zoya Breezi (blue),
China Glaze Mahogany Magic (lighter brown),
and Zoya Louise as the base for my middle and ring fingers.
