The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood: Day 1 - Rainbow Splatter

Digit-al Dozen week is back!

The April theme is "Childhood". For my first mani, I wanted to replicate a popular toy from my childhood: yoyos.

So I took to Google and found a picture of one awesome-looking yoyo:

It looked like something I could easily portray on my nails. Besides, it's rainbow, and we know I'm all for any chance to put a rainbow on my nails!

I started with a base of OPI Push and Shove, then did a traditional splatter mani using a straw and five different colors of polish: Nails Inc. Queen Victoria Street (green), Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Color Club Disco Dress (purple), Dermelect Power Trip (red), and Pixel Turquoise the Noise (blue).

I love how these turned out! Push and Shove is my all-time favorite silver! What do you think?

I'm excited to see what everyone else in the group has in store for this week too!

Thank you so much! :) I've never done a traditional splatter, so it's was definitely interesting. Welcome! Glad to have you here!!
Now that's an awesome yo-yo! And I love the mani SO much! Splatter manis are my nemesis, haha!

Thanks!! It was actually my first attempt at a real splatter mani using a straw - definitely a learning curve!
So much fun but so messy eh? I end up with polish EVERYWHERE! But this mani has made me want to try it again.
Thanks!! Yea it was definitely a disaster to clean up! I even put liquid latex all the way up to my second knuckle and covered my desk with paper towels. Still polish got in a million places I didn't want it!
Awesome splatter design you created! Its so fun.

Thank you!! It was fun, but SO messy!!
I never had a yoyo this fun looking, they were always plain and boring. Now the boys have technical looking yoyos that are like comparing a bluray to a betamax!

Right?! Mine were always those cheap, clunky plastic pieces of junk!
Oooh super cool! I always wanted to be able to do tricks with the yo-yo but just never could!

Thanks!! I never could either! Hahaha!
this is so fun! It looks amazing as a full mani! Was this a pain to clean up?

Thank you!! It was horrible to clean up! I covered my fingers almost entirely in liquid latex, and covered my desk, but it still got all over and took 20 minutes to clean just off my hands!
Awesome splatter! So bright and fun!

Really neat look, and I've never seen a yo yo like that.

Thanks!! I hadn't either until I went to Google! Haha!
Way fancier than the yo-you's I ever played with!
Very fun! I haven't done a splatter mani before, I'm afraid of how messy it will be. I envision polish all over my desk and computer. Hahaha
