Another guest post today to kick off the weekend! This time Bailey from Partial to Polish is visiting with a really fun mani.
Hey everyone, my name is Bailey and I run the blog Partial to Polish! A while ago Amber was looking for guest posters on Instagram and I'm so happy to be here today on her lovely blog!
Onto the nails!
I've very recently become obsessed with geometric colour blocking, so I thought this would be a great thing to share! I started off with a coat of base coat (Orly Bonder) as usual and allowed it a minute or so to dry.
For the colour blocks I first went in with a striper brush for the edges, followed by a much wider and shorter brush to fill them in. The colours I used were Essie Petal Pushers (purple-toned grey), American Apparel Mount Royal (dark blue) and Zoya Tiana (pale mint green).
The lines aren't the smoothest, but considering this is my first time trying something like this with rounded shapes I'm happy with these! It's especially hard trying to get a smooth line if you end up going over another block of colour, but I'll definitely be practicing this technique!
I was inspired by Maria of So Nailicious for these nails. These aren't a recreation of anything she has done, she does the coolest negative space and curved line nail art so I wanted to do some too!
What do you lovely people think of this look? I'm really happy with the colour combination I picked and I suspect this will be the first of many manis like this I'll be doing!
Thanks so much for having a look everyone! If you liked this look be sure to check out my many social media links down below!
