It is rare that I join a nail art challenge, especially a year-long one! I decided to take part in Debbie Crumpet's newest 52 week challenge, though. It is unique in that every other week we will be doing a broad theme like this one, and for the opposite weeks we do a color prompt but were each assigned a different design to do in that color. Some of the themes are going to be difficult, but I think it'll be a fun challenge!
For the first challenge, we were given the theme "hobbies". If nail polish and nail art wasn't one of my biggest hobbies, well, then why would I be here? I also thoroughly enjoy the crafting aisle and office supply aisle. So in trying to think a little outside the box, I started on a matted black base and used metallic Sharpie markers to draw on a few polish bottles and a dripping brush.
In attempts to coordinate with the markers, I added Zoya mattes to the rest of my nails: Loredana on my index nail, Harlow on my pinky, and Antoinette on my thumb. For a little extra sparkle here and there, I added Sally Hansen Rockstar Pink glitter to some of the purple Sharpie bits, Wet'n'Wild The Gold & The Beautiful to the gold marker, and Pure ICE Beware to the silver; all finished off with a matte topcoat.
So far this is a fun challenge! My goal is to not get behind on the schedule, so we'll see how that goes!
Don't like what I came up with? Well, you have plenty more oogle-worthy looks to choose from! :)
