A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: April Showers

I'm beyond thrilled with how this week's A Weekly Dose of Rainbows mani turned out! Since our theme is "rainbow showers" I started on a rainbow striped base. I used red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, then mixed a couple different shades of those colors to make my lines slightly more gradientesque than just solid, bold stripes. For my base I used:
  • LOOK Rocket's Red Glare
  • Sally Hansen Firey Island
  • Color Club Almost Famous
  • Sally Hansen Grass Slipper
  • Sally Hansen Fairy Teal
  • Sally Hansen Byte Blue
  • Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue
  • China Glaze Plur-ple

Over all of that I added a matte topcoat, then for my faux raindrops, I let a glob of Seche Vite thicken up and dotted it randomly so it would keep its shape instead of self-leveling.

And a few shots of the striped rainbow base shiny before I added the "raindrops" because I just loved how it looked too, and wore it that way for an entire day first:

As always, make sure to check out the #AWeeklyDoseOfRainbows tag on Instagram to see what everyone else in the group did for their designs this week, and if you'd like to join us in painting rainbow manis each week, look us up on Facebook and play along!

Hahah thank you! :) Since they're so similar in color where they transition it hides the unevenness of the lines well! I had to go slow and steady with them to get them to look fairly straight.
these came out perfect!
