Have a Jelly Crelly Christmas: Little Black Dress Lacquer

Today I have a couple polishes from Little Black Dress Lacquer to share. Courtne contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out a holiday duo she created, and of course I jumped at the chance; who doesn't love sparkly, fun Christmas polishes!? This lovely lady is so planned and professional, and every encounter I've had with her during my nail blogging life has been nothing but pleasant. Plus she's a Midwest native like myself, no way I could turn down an opportunity to get these babies on my nails and show them off here!

A little background for starters: Little Black Dress Lacquer is fairly new, Courtne started her brand in July of 2016. All her polishes are 5-free. She currently offers three full collections via her Etsy shop, among a plethora of other duos and colors. Instead of an entire collection for Christmas, Courtne put together a gift set called Have a Jelly Crelly Christmas, perfect for a complete manicure in one stop. It contains these two festive lacquers, a cuticle oil, a nail file, and a buffer.

So, time for swatches, yes?

Crelly Christmas

First up is the crelly half of the set, simply called Crelly Christmas. It is a crelly, clearly, full of so many glitter colors I don't know where to start! Primarily it has small red and green glitters, with a handful of blue sparkle, a dash of holo, bold matte white circles, and I even found a sparse scattering of silver stars, but was unable to fish any out. This polish had layers of depth at three coats, and needed two coats of Seche Vite topcoat since it had a thicker formula and so much glitter.

I just love the classic Christmas holiday coloring of this one: the reds, greens, and those white circles are my favorite! It made me think of sprinkles and frosting on cookies while I was putting it on.

Jelly Christmas

Sister to that is Jelly Christmas. A bright ember red jelly overflowing with tiny gold glitters and iridescent shards. Courtne calls this one a polish that screams 'Christmas party!', but I see a cozy, crackling fireplace! Another three-coater, plus two coats of topcoat.

The flakes are harder to see once they're on the nail, but still add a nice dimension of extra color and shifty fun!

That's it for me today! Thank you to Courtne for letting me try out your new creations!

You can find the holiday set here, and everything else she has to offer here. Thanks for stopping by!
