Stripes of Flowers: Nail Stamping Guide Plate Review

Press Sample/Affiliate Link

I have a fun new product from Born Pretty Store to share today! They're stamping guides: metal plates with cutouts. I can see these being a lot of fun to play and design with! Basically, you put the polish on your image and scrape, then lay one of these metal cutouts over the image before picking it up. Some of the cutouts are heart shaped, for example, so you'd only get the part of the image inside that heart.

I used the stripes cutout on guide plate 003 to stamp a floral print from BPL-024 with Rica Whiteout, with the full image on my middle nail for comparison. I did a great job of smearing my flowers, but this looked pretty neat pre-topcoat, and I can see this technique having a lot of potential!

The stamping is cute and I like that green a lot.

Thank you! It is a really pretty one!
I've been curious about these guides, so it's good to know you think they could be useful for nail art :) I might pick some up!

They're fun to play with. I'm not sure how much I'll actually use them, but definitely nifty.
Whenever I try to apply my gel topcoat over stamping, I find there are spots here and there where the topcoat won't adhere, and not necessarily on the stamped image itself. Then I noticed when using someone's technique of removing excess chrome powder with a stamper, it left a TON of little spots like that, no matter how many times I brushed over them with the topcoat, like maybe the stamper head is causing it! Any idea why this happens?

I'm not sure about that. I've never used gel topcoat over stamping, just Seche Vite. And I have yet to try out the stamping/powder technique.
